Network Randomizer

A tool for creating random networks and comparing them to the real ones
Network Randomizer is a Cytoscape app for generating random networks, as well as randomizing the existing ones, by using multiple random network models. Further, it can process the statistical information gained from the these networks in order to pinpoint their special, non-random characteristics. It covers many popular random network models: Erdős–Rényi, Watts–Strogatz, Barabási–Albert, Community Affiliation Graph, edge shuffle, degree preserving edge shuffle, but it also features a new model which is based on the node multiplication. The statistical module is based on the two-sample Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. It compares random and real networks finding the differences between them and thus providing insights into non-random processes upon which real networks are built. 1.1.3

Works with Cytoscape 3.2

Release Notes

The app is now updated in order to add some functionalities in the statistical module. In particular it is now possible to select different sets of networks, and compare them, without closing and restarting the app.

1.1.2

Works with Cytoscape 3.2

Release Notes

The Randomize Current function now randomizes the network while keeping the names of the nodes. This means that if your network has nodes with some, very specific names (e.g. JAK2, RHO or other protein names) then the new, randomized network will have the same node names.

1.1.1

Works with Cytoscape 3.2

Release Notes

Added the possibility to generate a number of networks at a time.

1.1

Works with Cytoscape 3.2

Release Notes

Nodes and edges naming fixed in order to let it be more user-friendly. The name in the Cytoscape Apps Menu is also fixed.
